Are there any type of warehouse stores online that give you discounts for buying products in bulk that would not require you to have a wholesaler's license - basically for personal home-use items?

Have you checked out http://www.hoovers.com/costco--uk/--ID__123453--/freeuk-co-factsheet.xhtml. From what I read, they're similar to the CostCo stores in America.
Have you heard about http://www.esources.co.uk/wholesale-suppliers/1082/ There are a number of places listed, I haven't checked them all to see if they're only for businesses. It might be a place to start.

There are those and also I've learned that if you call up almost any wholesaler, you can buy in bulk and pay the tax. I do this with a cleaning supply company in Scotland, and it really saves alot.

That last link is really good. Thank you for it! It's hard to find good wholesale sites that don't charge you for access to their information. No one should have to pay for it anyway. Another good site is http://www.wholesale411.com

All those are great links. Thank you so much for sharing all those with us. I, too, will check them out. I love buying in bulk. It really does save you money in the long run.
